The question of Hong Kong has been dealt with by President to Prime Minister No.6. naval force is now on its way to release Hong Kong from Japanese occupation and will be assisted by the engineers of the V.L.R. bomber force in the Pacific.

B. You should assure the U.S. Chiefs of Staff that our intention is to provide forces to accompany or follow U.S. forces entering Chinese ports in order that British interests should be represented. There is no intention of sending in forces unilaterally.
